By the end of the first segment, Flores found himself running second behind teammate Neal Lewis after a daring three-wide maneuver going into turn one. As segment two began, the aggression picked up as drivers were banging doors and forcing tight passes around every corner. After getting shuffled to the backside of the top-five, Flores worked his way up to second and battled hard with teammate Austin Banker for the lead as the second segment concluded. As segment three began Flores took little time getting to the lead, utilizing a late race restart.
